Each time I’ve come to Haiti I’ve been able to deliver gifts from sponsors to their sponsor children. I feel guilty that I get to do this. A sponsor makes sacrifices to include this child in their life & goes to the effort of putting together a gift and all I have to do is throw… opps, I mean gently place… the gift in my bags. It doesn’t seem right that I’m the one who gets to experience the excitement of the child opening what may be the first gift they’ve ever received or even better, a gift from someone they consider their friend. Seeing the interaction between sponsor & their sponsor child is such a unique experience.
